In a bid to further promote online buying and selling of second hand items in Cebu, OLX Philippines officially launches its latest campaign on January 7, “Biliba!”, featuring local TV and online Cebuano personalities.
Biliba, which comes from the root word, “bilib”, is a Cebuano expression of admiration for something done well.
“The campaign aims to praise and celebrate the smart ways or diskarte of people from all walks of life in moving their lives forward. OLX Philippines wants to encourage and empower the people to be smart, practical, and positive,” explains OLX Philippines Senior Marketing Manager-Cebu Regina Aguilar.
Highlighted in the campaign are the small wins at life, dubbed as “Bilib Moments” through buying and selling secondhand items using OLX.
“We want to feature the joys in small practical solutions that create a big impact in simple yet fulfilling experiences,” added Aguilar.
Sharing these Bilib Moments are four Cebuano personalities who happen to be real-life OLX users, namely, TV hosts Blinky de Leon and Phoebe Kaye Fernandez, and bloggers Doyzkie Buenaviaje and Toni Pino-Oca.
TV Hosts Blinky and Phoebe bought their dream cars from OLX sellers at a more affordable price.
“I find it difficult to shop around for a new car given my very busy schedule. Luckily, I discovered OLX. Its mobile app helped me search whenever and wherever I can,” shared the model-turned-TV host Blinky who’s also been selling personal pre-loved items on OLX.
Phoebe, on the other hand, still gushes on the big discount she got from the OLX seller of her purchased secondhand car.
“The couple selling the unit was so accommodating and friendly. They answered all my questions about the car, and I could sense that they are sincere and honest. They even gave me an additional discount. I was so happy!” she said.
Cebu’s renowned lifestyle blogger Doyzkie detailed how selling in OLX helped him raise his travel fund.
“I love travelling. But travelling entails cost. So, I really save for it. I have an old laptop that is still in tiptop shape so I posted it on OLX just to see if someone would still buy it. An hour later somebody called and wanted to check the gadget. She fell in love with it and went home happy after our meet up. I went home happy as well,” recalled Doyzkie.
Earn and help
Mom and fashion blogger Toni, on the other hand, shared how she was able to earn some extra cash while at the same time helping an OLX buyer to finally own an item for an affordable price.
“I thought of selling my daughter’s used stroller not only to earn some extra money but to also perhaps help a mommy out there who wants it for her baby but can’t afford a brand new one. So I posted it on OLX. On that same day, I got a lot of inquiries. The following day, the stroller was immediately sold to a very happy mom,” she shared.
“We hope that our Biliba videos will push more people not only to use OLX but also inspire and cheer them on them to be resourceful, practical, and smart in life,” concluded Aguilar.
